Northern Light Tour

Program

We will pick you up at 6pm at your hotel in Kiruna and drive to our base, 6 km out of town. After getting dressed with warm winter clothes and boots, you’ll be more than welcome to say hi to our frendly and lovely dogs and play with the puppies.

We will then harness up the dogs and if you want, you’re welcome to help us.
Once everything is set up, it’s time to sit on the sled and head into the Arctic night! The second we hit the trail, the dogs will stop barking and all you will hear is the crackling sound of the wooden runners on the snow and the panting of the dogs, with the guide’s headlamp lighting the trail ahead of you.
We will head north of the kennel, away from light pollution, driving though vast open areas, so that we can make sure not to miss the chance to see the northern lights, should they come out!
Half way though the tour we will have a break in out Lavvu (Sami tent) to warm up and enjoy a warm drink and home-baked cake in front of the fire, where you will have the chance to learn bout the dogs and the Arctic and ask as many questions as you want! In the meantime, your guide will make sure to keep an eye on the sky outside.
The tour lasts roughly 3 hours, back in Kiruna around 9pm.
